SHANE ALEXANDER, BLISS (street date 7/8/2016)
Shane Alexander is one of the hardest working indie artists around. Bliss, Alexander's first self-production, is also the first record made at his new Buddhaland Studios in Southern California. Bliss is a timeless tribute to the artist's influences, both classic and more recent contemporaries such as Jonathan Wilson, Ryan Adams and Conor Oberst. Alexander’s crystalline tenor and deft acoustic guitar are at the heart of all the tracks.
Touring the US and 11 other countries both as a headliner, and supporting acts like Bon Iver, Jewel, John Hiatt, Suzanne Vega, Seal, Styx and Yes, the fiercely independent artist has developed loyal international fanbase, further exacerbated in recent months when 'Skyway Drive-In', a solo acoustic track from the 2013 release Ladera, crossed over 6.5 million streams on Spotify.

ROBERT REX WALLER JR, FANCY FREE (street date: 7/1/16)
Fancy Free, the new solo album from I See Hawks in L.A. frontman, Robert Rex Waller Jr. summons work from brilliant obscure artists and icons of popular music alike, taking listeners into a soundscape of exuberance, heartache and everything in between. It’s a place where the plaintive strumming of Daniel Johnston and Mike Stinson commingle with the visionary lyricism of Neil Young and Nina Simone, and with wonderfully off-kilter romps from the Oak Ridge Boys, The Hollies and The Doors.
Fans of the Hawks’ outlaw California country will find lots to savor on this album—Willie Nelson’s “Me and Paul” (a sly reference to Rob’s fellow Hawks partners-in-crime Paul Lacques and Paul Marshall) and Utah Phillips’ “Walking Through Your Town in the Snow.” But much of the album finds Rob embracing his inner rocker. Adherents of indie rock, punk and ‘70s style psychedelia for a grand collection that no music devotee will want to miss.
ELOISE, DEEP WATER (Street date 7/15/2016)
Elouise debut album, "Deep Water”, raw and cinematic Blackgrass
Good old fashioned suicides, murders, and alcoholic depravity followed by church on Sunday—Welcome to Elouise— an eccentric collaboration of Los Angeles-based musicians who came together to create an ominous, raw and cinematic genre of music they identify as Blackgrass.
Their upcoming debut, Deep Water Uses a mix of Classical and Bluegrass instrumentation combined with an array of eclectic instruments including the marxophone, six-string banjo, bandoneon and harmonium. Elouise then layers their sound with dark and beautifully dramatic European strings like the cello and double bass. This idea of low end drone and virtuosic strings combined with sounds from traditional Bluegrass instrumentation is the signature sound they call Blackgrass.
"Deep Water is one of the most brilliant albums conceived and recorded in recent years. If you can't open your ears to the concept and appreciate the time and effort it took to pull this off, that's your problem. Truth be told, I can see this album being not only accepted but passionately embraced by a large percentage of Americana fans worldwide. Fans of any genre. Listen with headphones. In a dark room. With the volume turned up."--Frank Gutch, Jr for No Depression
Lasers Lasers Birmingham developed over the span of two years while Alex Owen was a multi instrumentalist and side man for the Los Angeles folk rock outfit Vanish Valley. A self-titled Lasers Lasers Birmingham cassette was recorded and distributed at small shows throughout 2013-14. The cassette featured Owen playing almost all tracks in his kitchen. Demos with a completely new direction were brought to producer Jake Poser in February 2015 where they whittled the tracks down for the Royal Blue EP. Lasers Lasers Birmingham’s left-of-center country music behaves like Father John Misty, Sturgill Simpson, Waylon Jennings, Neil Young and The Band.

SARA PETITE and THE ROAD LESS TRAVELED (Street Date: August 2016)
Sara Petite is a gifted singer-songwriter who possesses the unique ability to reach the hearts and souls of fans young and old. She has the rare gift to craft songs that appeal equally, but are interpreted differently by fans of diverse perspectives. This comes through in her live performances as well. A true original, Sara's music does not conveniently fit into any one musical genre or sub-category, but rather traces her influences in country, bluegrass, rock and folk, and emerges into a sound completely her own. As welcome in senior citizen centers as she is in biker bars, nightclub venues and festivals, Sara is as American as apple pie and Harley Davidson. She is gritty, she is wild, she is tender with a soul of a child.
Transplanted to San Diego from a tulip farming town in Washington – and influenced by artists as diverse as Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, Dolly Parton and June Carter to Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen and John Mellencamp -- Petite has toured all over the U.S. and Europe.
Rocking out with her band, Sara Petite and the Sugar Daddies, she also has a rootsy 3-piece Classic Country, swampy sounding ensemble, Sara Petite and the Sweet Pea Possums. Sara also tours as a solo artist and has opened for many greats such as Josh Turner, Marty Stuart, Lonestar, Todd Snider, Dave Alvin, Ol 97s, John Eddie, Richie McDonald, Trent Tomlinson, Ralph Stanley, Steve Poltz and more…
Her accolades include:
