Paperplanes to tour this Spring!
Keep your eyes on our tour schedule as we get closer to April! Seattle, Portland and San Francisco--start getting excited!
"Paperplanes put out a record last year, and at the first curl of pedal-steel by Cliff Kane you had to wonder—now where did this come from? Rhinestone Republic sounded like Nashville in 1975 or Lubbock in 1979—the kind of record that comes out of the kinds of places in the documentary Heartworn Highways, where the walls are wood-paneled and the cars are peeling paint and where Townes Van Zandt can fall splatter-drunk into a big hole and still make a joke out of it, even though he’d play “Waitin’ Round to Die” just a minute later."--Chris Ziegler, LA Record http://www.thepaperplanes.com ![]() The Cupcake Diaries tour the Pacific Northwest in February!![]() The Cupcake Diaries are the touring duo of Anntonette Goroch and Michele Kappel-Stone (aka Tippy Canoe). Listen to them live on Friday February 5th 2pm (PST) on Portland radio station klcradio.net For touring dates, please check the tour page. For more information: www.tippycanoe.net and www.myspace.com/antonettekg "Sister-like harmonies and a merry-go-round of guitar, ukulele, washboard and bass propel their Americana sound. The name was derived from their first tour's final destination: a cupcake bakery in Olympia, WA and "The Cupcake Diaries" stuck. On their musical jouney they combine a thirst for exploration and revel in the delight of their colorful lives like Thelma and Louise on a sugar-high. Fortunately, they each have a background in power-pop and melodic punk to add a sharp edge to the sweetness, and keep the music lean and hungry. Catch a show and be a part of the next chapter in their adventure." Ted Russell Kamp makes the AMA top 100 for 2009!![]() Ted has made the Americana Music Chart's top 100 listing of 2009 at #65 with 3,212 plays! Congratulations! check out the rest of the list here: http://blurt-online.com/news/view/3185/ "Kamp is the bass player for Shooter Jennings, but he also makes solo discs. His first, 2007's Divisadero, was a gem, and the follow up, Poor Man's Paradise, is even better. It's single,( Just a Yesterday Away) is a rumbling, rootsy ramble with Chip Davis shadowing Ted's lead vocal with tenor harmony throughout." -Music Row Magazine |
